QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
An earned Doctor of Philosophy degree (or equivalent) in any of the Pathology disciplines such as Chemical Pathology, Haematology, Histopathology, Immunology and Medical Microbiology
An undergraduate Bachelors degree Medicine/ Medical Laboratory Sciences/ Biochemistry/ Biological Sciences or equivalent
Must be registered as a Pathologist with the Medical and Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe (MDPCZ) or the Medical Laboratory and Clinical Scientist Council of Zimbabwe (MLCSCZ).
A qualification in Development and Implementation of Quality Management Systems(ISO 15189/ISO 17025) is an added advantage.
At least 6 years work experience in a Diagnostics and Research Centre, with at least 3 years experience at supervisory level.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the Diagnostics (Laboratory and Radiology), Research and Innovation operations at the Centre.
Marketing the Pathology Centre services to clinicians, medical centres and other stakeholders.
Facilitate the implementation of a quality management system for the attainment of accreditation.
Develop procedures to ensure safety, security, quality, and accuracy of services offered.
Tend to administrative and management matters.
Budget for the Diagnostics and Research Centre.
Customer complaints resolution.
Innovation including facilitating research studies for vaccine development, drug discovery and diagnostic test development.
Guide all local ethical procedures in compliance with the Medical Research Council of Zimbabwe (MRCZ) and the Medicines Control Authority of Zimbabwe (MCAZ).
Overall management of a portfolio of projects.
Establish international collaborations and partnerships resulting in the signing of MOUs and MOAs
