Applicants must have both the intellectual and professional adaptability and flexibility to be able to manage, lead and administer academic programmes for the University and the community at large. The ideal candidate should possess academic and/or professional qualifications with a bias towards Education and possession of a Doctorate from a recognized Higher Education Institution is a requirement. University teaching, experience at the level of Departmental Chairperson and a strong research background are a distinct advantage. Experience in curriculum delivery using pedagogical and andragogical approaches is a distinct advantage. The incumbent should be able to communicate effectively at all levels within and outside the University.

DUTIES
The Duties shall include: –

Assessing and providing remedies to any teaching and learning challenges met by academic staff by carrying relevant training, staff development, demostrations and workshops in the university in order to align to Education 5.0

REQUIREMENTS
Designing and reviewing Academy curriculum for training academic staff who do not possess the experience and teaching qualifications;
Developing, managing and implementing the Academy’s Strategic Plan;
Providing academic, research and administrative leadership for the Academy;
Ensuring that all the programmes on offer in the Academy meet the accreditation requirements of the regulatory body;
Planning, controlling and budgeting use of resources in the Academy;
Leading the Academy in achieving its objectives through the development and delivery of sound and innovative programmes in the promotion of excellence in teaching, research, community service, innovation and industrialization;
Securing support for the Academy through partnership and linkages with other organizations;
Contributing to the transformation and maintenance of a comprehensive and conducive teaching and learning environment in the University; and
Contributing to the quality assurance of all programmes in the Academy.
The Director reports to the Vice Chancellor through the Pro Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs and Administration.
