DEPUTY DIRECTOR, ENGINEERING INFRASTRUCTURE
AND ESTATES
Reports to: Director, Engineering Infrastructure and Estates
Duties and Responsibilities
- Providing technical oversight and ensuring quality
assurance in all construction and infrastructure projects. - Leading and supervising departmental managers across all
units. - Enforcing Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ)
compliance throughout the department. - Coordinating staff training and technical capacity-building
initiatives. - Managing stores control, asset utilization and materials
inventory. - Prepare progress reports, technical briefs and
documentation for management and oversight bodies. - Ensure effective financial control, budgeting and resource
utilization within infrastructure development projects. - Supporting departmental strategic planning, budgeting and
policy development. - Acting on behalf of the Director in their absence, including
representing the department at senior-level meetings and
engagements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Civil and
Construction Engineering or equivalent degree - Relevant Master’s degree
- Membership of an acceptable Engineering Professional
Institution - Licensed by the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe
- At least 3 years post-qualification relevant experience in the
field
