DATA ENGINEER
Equals Solutions is a FinTech company that provides digital consumer credit management solutions to
institutions. The company offers a comprehensive set of automated, insight-driven services to help
financial institutions achieve the digital transformation of the consumer credit management journey.

The Job
Reporting to the Software Development Manager, the successful candidate will among other things be
responsible for:
Designing, building, and maintaining our critical data infrastructure and pipelines. The role will be
responsible for transforming raw data into actionable insights, ensuring data quality, and supporting
the organization’s analytical and reporting needs.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Data Pipeline Development and Management – Design, build, and manage data pipelines
for both batch and near real-time data using tools like AWS DMS, Debezium, Kafka, or Apache
Airflow.
• ETL/ELT Design and Optimization – Architect and manage ETL/ELT flows using dbt, AWS
Glue, or custom Spark/Python workflows, ensuring efficiency and scalability.
• Data Warehouse Development – Develop and maintain data warehouse solutions on
[Postgres, Redshift], including data modelling (fact/dimension), partitioning, and materialized
views to enhance performance and usability.
• Change Data Capture (CDC) – Implement CDC strategies to ingest and transform multitenant PostgreSQL data into a unified, consistent format.
• Data Quality and Governance – Ensure comprehensive data quality, validation, lineage
tracking, and reconciliation across various systems.
• DevOps Collaboration – Collaborate effectively with DevOps teams to define and implement
CI/CD practices for data pipelines and manage data infrastructure as code (e.g.,
CloudFormation, Terraform/CDK).
The Person
The ideal applicant should possess the following minimum qualifications and attributes:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related
field.
• Certifications in related technologies is a distinct advantage.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience with a proven track record of delivering data
solutions.
• Proven experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on data architecture, ETL
development, data integration and data warehousing.
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, Mysql, MongoDB, AWS DMS, and Redshift.
• Experience with tools like AWS Glue, Lambda, or Step Functions for orchestration.
• Working knowledge of S3, Athena, and data lakes.
• Strong understanding of CDC (Change Data Capture) pipelines.
• Proficiency in dbt, SQL, and data modeling (star/snowflake schemas).
• Solid understanding of data warehouse best practices and multi-tenant architecture.
• Familiarity with monitoring, alerting, and pipeline observability.
