Job Description
Reporting to the MERL Manager, the Country MERL Coordinator provides guidance and support on MERL initiatives in line with MERL policy and standards. The incumbent will support knowledge management and learning initiatives to improve the quality of program and influencing initiatives.
Accountabilities
Monitoring
Support development and regular update of country strategy MERL framework.
Support effective utilization of MERL systems for data collection, analysis and reporting.
Support planning reporting initiatives to demonstrate impact of our work.
Coordinate data quality assurance, ensuring its usefulness for program and influencing decision-making, as well as robustly demonstrating our impact.
Participate in project design and ensure development of comprehensive M & E frameworks
Evaluation and Research
Support utilization of researches and evaluations to generate credible evidence for program, influencing initiatives and program design.
Supoport development of dissemination of sharing key findings from research and evaluation initiatives.
Support generation and review of evaluation and research management response and action plans to ensure that recommendations are actioned.
Knowledge Management and Learning
Support knowledge management and learning initiatives to improve the quality of our program and influencing initiatives.
Support development and utilisation of feedback and accountability mechanisms initiatives for various projects.
Support documentation of program and influencing work through various channels to demonstrate program effectiveness.
Build capacity of staff and partners on basic MERL in line with Plan` s MERL approach.

Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding of Children & Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility.
Qualifications and Experience:
A degree in Economics, Strategic Planning, Development Studies, or related studies.
A post graduate degree in research and or monitoring and evaluation will be an added advantage.
3- 5 years relevant working experience.
Knowledge of strategic planning processes and theories of child-rights programming
Data management, quality control and validation processes and requirements
Appropriate statistical analysis methodologies and systems.
Skills
Strong strategic thinking, analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong team-building, motivational, negotiating, facilitating and influencing skills.
Proficient in computer skills and use of research applications, like SPSS.
Manage quantitative and qualitative data collection.
Use relevant digital data collection tools.
Analyse, synthesise and draw out conclusions and learning from M&E data and processes.

Support network of MERL staff to jointly learn from, develop and innovate research practice and methodologies.
