Communications & Advocacy Assistant (Volunteer x1) 2025 Contracts: Action for Youth Foundation Trust

Reports to: The Senior Communications & Advocacy

Action for Youth Foundation Trust is a not-for-profit, non-governmental organization that creates a safe and conducive, violent-free environment for Youths living with HIV, Orphans & Vulnerable Children, and Youths in Key Population Communities in Zimbabwe.

The organization is seeking to engage a Communications & Advocacy Assistant who will be supporting the Communications Department within the organization at voluntary basis.

Duties and responsibilities:
– Support in developing and implementing comprehensive communications and advocacy strategies.
– Support in leading media relations, including releases, statements and interviews.
– Assist in managing social media platforms, including content creation and engagement.
– Develop and disseminate advocacy materials, including policy briefs and campaign materials.
– Collaborate with stakeholders including partners, donors and government agencies.
– Provide guidance and support to program staff on communications and advocacy.
– Any other duties assigned by the immediate supervisor.

Requirements & Experience
– At least a Diploma in Communications, Journalism, Health Education & Health Promotions, Public Relations or any other relevant.
– 2 years experience working with the media.
– CPD Qualification in Graphic Designing is an added advantage.
