Job Summary
The Zimbabwe School of Mines is a mining School in Zimbabwe that provides a higher education qualification in mining by providing competency-based training for high-caliber, hands-on technicians. Therefore, a high need to manage and be accountable for the provision of security policies, systems, code of practice, strategy, and operational activities for the School and provide advice to ensure that the strategies adopted, meet all external and internal School strategies and corporate.
Position Description Job Title: Chief Security Officer.
Reporting to: Principal. Closing Date: 19 December 2022 Location: Bulawayo
Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will be reporting to the Principal. Duties and responsibilities shall entail, but not limited to;
Develop the School’s overall Security strategy in support of the School’s mandate and implementation.
Preserve value for the School by eliminating any pilferage by implementing security systems and procedures.
Research and advice on the latest security technologies, mitigating the risk of loss through pilferage, connivance, and /or infiltration.
Provide the requisite resourcing of the security service department to ensure that it is adequately equipped to discharge its mandate.
Design systems that allow effective responsiveness to security breaches to minimize loss to the School.
Planning, executing, managing, coordinating, and reporting on complex, significant, and highly sensitive security breaches.
Develop an intelligence-driven Operation to properly align the allocation of time, resources, and personnel to ensure maximum probability of success and performance excellence regarding reviews, investigations, and assessments
Ensure personal and co-workers‘ adherence and compliance with Security objectives
Spearhead emergency preparedness initiatives
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
Degree in Police and Security Studies or any other related degree such as Risk Management
Ex-member of the Security services is an added advantage
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the relevant field.
Strong knowledge of the national political and socio-economic landscape of Zimbabwe.
Superior verbal and written communication skills in English.
