CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER (CEO)
The TIMB Board of Directors is seeking to recruit a dynamic, exceptional, self-driven, passionate and visionary leader with good professional and ethical standing to fill the position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The CEO is responsible for transforming the Tobacco Industry in Zimbabwe for sustainable economic prosperity.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Develops and implements strategies to drive growth in the tobacco industry by ensuring that the tobacco industry is managed sustainably.
2. Crafts and implements a comprehensive national growth strategy to make tobacco the leading foreign currency earner by nurturing the value chain for sustainable growth.
3. Drives Industry-wide initiatives by building and maintaining strategic relationships with key stakeholders.
4. Passes on opportunities to stakeholders by monitoring market trends to identify opportunities in the global markets.
5. Promotes sustainable growth and tobacco marketing by ensuring all industry players comply with all relevant regulations and industry standards.
6. Fosters a culture of excellence by creating a work environment that encourages collaboration and
innovation within the organisation.
7. Develops policies to promote environmental sustainability in all aspects of the value chain, from
cultivation to manufacturing and distribution of tobacco products by engaging all stakeholders in the
industry.
8. Promotes sustainable agricultural practices by collaborating with farmers and suppliers to cover soil
conservation and biodiversity preservation.
9. Implements social responsibility programs by promoting initiatives that support the well-being of tobacco farmers, workers and local communities affected by the industry.
10. Ensures that TIMB is self-sustaining by optimizing human and financial resources within the parameters approved by the Board.
11. Promotes sustainable operations by developing governance structures that ensure optimal resource
utilization in support of the vision and mission of TIMB.
12. Champions the use of technology in the tobacco value chain by passing on new technology and
innovations to the stakeholders involved in tobacco farming and marketing.

Qualifications and Experience
i. Master’s degree in Agriculture, Crop Science/Botany/Business Admin/Business
Leadership/Economics.
ii. University Degree in Agriculture, Crop Science/Botany/Business Admin and Economics or any other
relevant degree.
iii. 10 years of relevant experience.
iv. An impeccable track record in the tobacco industry at a senior management level.

Other Requirements
i. Proven track record of visionary leadership and successful business management.
ii. Deep understanding of the tobacco industry, market dynamics, and regulatory landscape.
iii. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels
iv. Strong business acumen and experience in driving growth strategies.
v. Ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver results.
