Qualifications and Experience
• A Masters’ degree in Animal Science/ Wildlife Management /Conservation / Ecology / Zoology/Veterinary Sciences
• An earned PhD in Animal Science /Wildlife Management/ Conservation/ Ecology/ Zoology/ Veterinary Sciences
• Five (5) years post qualification experience in wildlife research with a minimum of two (2) years at managerial level.
• Relevant publications in high impact refereed journals
• Must have a high level of written and oral communication skills as well as strong knowledge of business process
Duties and Responsibilities
The Director reports to the Vice Chancellor and is responsible for leading the Centre’s growth and development trajectory and is expected to:
• Provide strategic and scientific leadership.
• Management of the Centre’s research and community programmes.
• Provision of facilities for cutting edge research in wildlife and conservation of fauna in the Province.
• Provision of research opportunities for Masters’ and Doctoral Studies.
• Resource mobilization to support and fulfill the Centre’s objectives.
• Stakeholder engagement and development of viable collaborations.
