HelpAge Zimbabwe (HAZ) a local NGO which works with and for Older Persons in Zimbabwe is seeking to recruit an Administrator at Mazowe River Bridge Old Peoples’ Home in Rushinga District
Duties and Responsibilities.
- Manage and co-ordinate all the day to day activities at the Home in an inclusive approach.
- Supervise all staff & draw up work plans at the Home
- Manage and attend to stakeholders in the District and nationally.
- Write monthly reports and submit to head office
- Maintain proper inventory for items donated to the home & an asset register
- Submit grant forms to the Department of Social Welfare
Meals for Older Persons
- Ensure Preparation of age-appropriate meals for the older persons in the Home
- Ensure that residents consume the food
- Maintain proper and accurate records of all food prepared and consumed.
- Promote and protect the image of the Home
- Ensure cleaning of all kitchen utensils, floors, tables and the surroundings.
- Ensure Locking of kitchen, dining and food storeroom.
- See to it that the older persons with disabilities and sick residents are given food.
Care of older persons
Ensuring that they Bath daily, oral hygiene, Washing of their clothes and linen, Cleaning their rooms, recreation availability. Hospital visits as and when required & adhering to their medication routines, counselling as required.
Income Generation
The Administrator shall initiate income generating activities to support the home, some of them being;
- Grinding Mill; Poultry; Piggery; Crop Farming; Small Livestock farming; Fish project; Any other
The Candidate should have primarily the following qualifications and Experience;
At least 5 O Levels including mathematics and English language
Mature person who is computer literate
At least 10 years relevant experience in administrative roles
Record of working at similar institution an added advantage.
