We’re excited to share that Million Memory Project Zimbabwe is seeking candidates
for its board of directors in 2024. As a nonprofit committed to providing psychosocial
support to children and young people living with HIV and other socially vulnerable
youth, the organization serves a critical purpose in our community. It is looking to
recruit several new board members on a voluntary basis. This is an incredible
opportunity to be part of an organization that directly impacts the lives of those who
need support the most.

1. PLANNING, MONITORING, EVALUATION, RESEACRH, LEARNING AND
ACCOUNTABILITY REPRESANTATIVE
 Establishes long-range goals
 Supports development of long-range strategic plans
 Approves or delegates approval of annual objectives
 Provides input for goals based on MMPZ needs and potential
 Approves annual MMPZ objectives
 Monitors goal achievement by MMPZ
 Reviews and monitors achievement of MMPZ objectives and goals

2. FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND ADIMINISTRATION REPRESANTATIVE
(BOARD TREASURER)
 Provides Financial and operational oversight
 Supports fundraising efforts to finance the organization
 Mobilizes Board members to make individual financial/material contributions
 Approves MMPZ’s annual operations and budget
 Oversees MMPZ’s budget expenditures
 Approves the organization’s annual audit
 Provides mentoring to ensure reliable financial and accounting services and systems
 Monitors the management of MMPZ funds in accordance with general policies

3. PROGRAM DESIGN AND MANAGEMENT REPRESANTATIVE
 Provides program oversight and community engagement leadership
 Assists in setting standards and approves general standards for MMPZ
programs
 Supports guidance for achieving MMPZ program results and related policies
based on community needs
 Promotes community participation in MMPZ program initiatives
 Ensures MMPZ conducts programs in accordance with general standards and logical framework
 Provides technical support for all MMPZ program design and implementation.

4. HUMAN RESOURCES AND CULTURE REPRESANTATIVE
 Supports the Executive Director in personnel hiring decisions
 Assists the Executive Director in hiring and dismissing staff as applicable
 Conducts performance reviews of the Executive Director
 Provides input into the performance review process for MMPZ staff
 Offers feedback to the Executive Director following performance reviews.

5. COMMUNICATIONS AND RELATIONSHIP BUILDING REPRESANTATIVE (BOARD SECRETARY)
 Documents and keeps up-to-date records for the Board and MMPZ in general
 Represents MMPZ at local, national, and international events
 Represents MMPZ in community and affiliated organizations
 Builds local community affiliation and represents MMPZ in the community
 Provides technical support for MMPZ’s management of social media
 Facilitates content review and strategies to ensure positive visibility and image
among targeted communities and constituencies.

6. LEGAL AFFAIRS, POLICY FORMULATION AND DEVELOPMENT REPRESANTATIVE
 Provides policy and legal oversight
 Establishes all general policies for MMPZ
 Determines matters of policy for MMPZ within the organization’s general guidelines
 Alerts the MMPZ Board about any emerging legal needs or concerns
 Provides legal counsel and representation for MMPZ when facing litigation

7. BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT REPRESANTATIVE
 Facilitate strategic growth and resource mobilization
 Responsible for driving strategic opportunities for MMPZ
 Responsible for generating new business opportunities by prospecting
through existing donors and engaging with potential funders
 Meeting existing and potential donors and building positive relationships
 Responding to calls for proposals and working on new proposals and concept notes
 Liaising with MMPZ teams to develop business development, fundraising, and marketing strategies.

8. YOUTH, GENDER AND INCLUSION REPRESENTATIVE
 Provide technical leadership on inclusion and diversity
 Responsible for maximizing delivery of gender, youth, and inclusion technical aspects of interventions at the organizational level
 Responsible for developing strategies which will make young people feel welcome, secure, and comfortable, and participate fully in MMPZ activities
 Facilitate innovative strategies to ensure youth celebrate their identity,
especially those aspects that make them different from others such as their
culture, ethnicity, sexual orientation, ability, gender, and health (including
mental health)
 Provide technical support to MMPZ and ensure the organization has gender
equity at all levels and promotes diversity
