The University of Zimbabwe is inviting suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the following positions that have arisen in the Directorate for Research Innovation and Industrialisation,
POSITION 2: BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT LEADS (3 POSTS)
Reports to the Innovation Hub Manager and Research Specialists.
Working with Innovation Hub Interns, the Business Development Leads will support the commercialisation and marketing of goods and services generated from the University Research-Innovation-Industrialisation Ecosystem.
Specifically, the ideal candidate will be responsible for:
1. Product development including Start-up establishment, nurturing and incubation.
2. Entrepreneurship development, training and capacity strengthening of Innovation Hub Interns and Start-up Directors.
3. Performance monitoring and evaluation of Start-up enterprises.
4. Identifying opportunities including organising prospecting events, pitches, feedback sessions, seminars, workshops, partnerships and/or strategic alliances.
5. Conducting related duties as may be assigned by the Innovation Hub Manager and/or Research Specialists.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should have:
1. A minimum of a Masters Degree or equivalent in the relevant area from an accredited institution
ii. Experience with interacting with students or record of teaching and/or research experience at University level
iii. Proven track record in product development and/or ability to model and/or grow business.
iv. Experience with multidisciplinary collaboration and/or management of partnerships.
