JOB PURPOSE
The position exists to provide effective caretaking services through maintaining the
building and grounds in a good state to uphold a positive image of POTRAZ, to its
stakeholders. The position is also responsible for ensuring that all doors and
windows are secure in order to safeguard organization’s property and personal
property whilst working closely with the Loss control Unit and Security.
The position reports to the Estates and Administration Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Inspects, monitors and records building cleaning standards and
cleaners’/contractors’ performance in accordance with the Building Cleaning
specification.
• Identifies where repairs need to be done on all trades of construction and carries
out minor repairs or supervises repairs on all trades of construction [building,
carpentry, plumbing, painting and electrical].
•Works closely with the Estates officer in maintenance and repair works for the
building and offices
•Ensures that all doors and access points are secure to minimize loss of personal
and organisational property.
•Works in liaison with Loss Control Unit to ensure that the security guards are
executing their duties as per Service Level Agreement
•Looks out for trespassers to the HQ building and reports any suspicious visitors
to Loss Control Unit and Security
•Works closely with Procurement Management Unit and obtains quotations for
urgent requirements for maintains works.
•Ensures compliance with service manual on motorised equipment, generator, air
conditions and firefighting equipment and reports any equipment faults.
•Ensures effective landscaping by supervising outsourced contractors.
•Contacts directly appropriate service providers in the event of the following
emergencies: fire; floods; break-ins; vandalism and accidents.
•Prepares monthly reports of state of building for submission to management.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Diploma in Electrical, Plumbing or Building.
• Journey man Class one.
• 5 “O” passes including Maths, English and Science.
•At least 3 years’ working experience in Property Management.
•Clean class 4 Drivers Licence.
