BROKING MANAGER- AGRICULTURE

The role – what we expect from you:

• Create a structured business development program across all distribution channels in liaison with Head Office.
• Develop and implement strategies to attract and retain clients.
• Prepare quotes and proposals and facilitate product presentations to clients and channel partners.
• Resolve sales queries and provide feedback, escalating unresolved queries to Head Office.
• Monitor and report sales performance against set targets as required.
• Implement the firm’s underwriting policy, guidelines and procedures.
• Process reinsurance placements within mandate, seeking Head office approval where necessary.
• Issue policies within the system in line with the approved service charter.
• Participate in product development initiatives and approved market events.
• Implement the claims and client servicing strategy as outlined in the Claims Department Procedure Manual.
• Monitor service providers and resolve service level issues.
• Claims registration, processing, and payment within mandate.
• Resolve claims queries and complaints from stakeholders.
• Contribute to the division’s budgetary process by providing section information and requirements.
• Implement systems, measures and practices to comply with approved compliance and risk management policies.
• Coordinate compliance projects and updates of underwriting and claims documentation, policy wording, product ratings and product development changes in liaison with Head Office.
• Conduct risk assessments, identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them.
• Recommend the selection and retention of 3rd party professionals for use.
• Manage and monitor usage of approved systems, namely, ZINARA, Icecash, and Pure.
• Set the Brokers objectives and manage performance of the team and agents.
• Improve the competence of the team and distribution channels through coaching and mentorship programs.
• Motivate team through creating a positive, collaborative environment.
• Undertake any other duties, tasks, assignments, and projects as may be delegated/assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, Skills and experience required

• Undergraduate degree in Insurance and Risk Management or related fields.
• A Master’s degree in a related field is an advantage.
• Diploma in Sales and Marketing or Business an advantage
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role at a reputable insurance or brokerage firm.
• Ability to conduct thorough risk assessments and identify potential risks.
• Proficiency in analyzing data to provide insights and recommendations.
• Knowledge of internal control frameworks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Marketing and Selling skills.
• Knowledge of short-term insurance underwriting and sales operations management.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to explain risk strategies and advisory services clearly.
• Ability to assess complex risk scenarios and provide informed recommendations.
• Able to identify and resolve client issues efficiently and effectively.
• Strong focus on client satisfaction and retention through excellent service delivery.
• Experience in leading and developing strong teams.
