Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the following post:

DISABILITY RESOURCE CENTRE 

 POST: BRAILLE TRANSCRIBER AND EMBOSSER OPERATOR (HARARE CAMPUS)

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • First Degree in Special Needs Education / ICT in Education
  • A skills qualification in braille transcription
  • At least 3 years work experience in a related environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transcribing braille documents (examination scripts, assignments and tests) for lecturers to mark.
  • Production of braille documents using an embosser
  • Assisting/ accompanying students with disabilities in carrying out daily activities in which they need help (using computers and other gadgets, reading, registration, invoice requests and any other learning needs)
  •  Running examinations for students with disabilities (printing and invigilating)
  •  Accompanying and motivating students with disabilities in sporting and club activities
  •  Any other duties assigned by the Coordinator
