POST: BRAILLE TRANSCRIBER AND EMBOSSER OPERATOR
QUALIFICATIONS
- First Degree in Special Needs Education/ ICT in Education
- A qualification in braille transcription
- At least 3 years of work experience in a related environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Transcribing braille documents (examination scripts, assignments and tests) for lecturers to mark.
- Production of braille documents using an embosser
- Assisting/ accompanying students with disabilities in carrying out daily activities in which they need help (using computers and other gadgets, reading, registration, invoice requests and any other learning needs)
- Running examinations for students with disabilities (printing and invigilating)
- Accompanying and motivating students with disabilities in sporting and club activities
- Any other duties as assigned by the Coordinator
