Zimbabwe Health Interventions (ZHI) is a not-for-profit human development organisation which is registered as a Trust under the Zimbabwe Deeds Registries Act (Chapter 20:05). ZHI’s mission is to develop and deliver innovative and sustainable high impact integrated health interventions with local communities while working with and strengthening existing institutions.
The Determined, Resilient, Empowered, AIDS-free, Mentored, and Safe women (DREAMS) Program aims to prevent new HIV infections and reduce vulnerability among OVC, OVC caregivers and Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) in Zimbabwe. The DREAMS program is being implemented in priority high HIV burden districts in Zimbabwe. ZHI’s primary role is to deliver a comprehensive curriculum on HIV prevention, gender norms and social asset building targeted at AGYW in school, out of school and their sexual partners at community level. ZHI’s core thrust in the DREAMS Program is to keep girls and young women HIV Free through supporting them to; Stay in school; Prevent early pregnancies; Prevent sexual violence; Access Post violence care; Reduce child marriage. DREAMS provides a comprehensive, multi-sectoral package of core interventions to address key factors that make girls and young women particularly vulnerable to HIV. These include structural factors, such as gender-based violence, exclusion from economic opportunities, and a lack of access to secondary school. DREAMS layers multiple interventions at once so that AGYW are surrounded with critical support to keep them safe from HIV and other risks.
Under the supervision of the Technical Officer – Positive Parenting, the Assistant Project Officer – Positive Parenting will be responsible for supporting the implementation of the Parenting interventions using the Sinovuyo curriculum. S/he will carry out their duties with a focus on mentoring and coaching of field agents who are responsible for the direct implementation of the parenting activities. S/he will ensure that all activities related to Sinovuyo Parenting in the project are implemented according to agreed standard operating procedures. S/he will provide support to Sinovuyo Facilitators through trainings and mentorship ensuring parenting activities are delivered with fidelity. S/he will work closely with the TO Positive parenting to provide technical guidance to partners and staff in the 9 DREAMS-RISE districts of operation.
Support district teams with identification and enrolment of eligible program beneficiaries; Proactively contribute to strategic thinking on parenting issues under the DREAMS-RISE project; Support the development / review and timely implementation of Parenting work plans and activities, by ensuring the active engagement of all cadres and communities involved ;Provide direct technical assistance to district teams to ensure technical soundness and high-quality parenting programming; Support the Parenting component of the project with a focus on mentoring and coaching of the Sinovuyo Facilitators and Positive Parenting program facilitators; Ensure the quality of parenting groups in target areas through regular field visits and spot checks; Ensure timeliness and accuracy of Sinovuyo Facilitators reporting; Support the TO Positive parenting with the recruitment/replacement and training processes for community cadres; Organize and facilitate project events with local leaders, agents, and groups, as needed; In coordination with the SIE Officers, ensure timely and quality capturing of M and E data on parenting; Support smooth integration and monitoring of parenting and Economic Strengthening interventions for parents and Caregivers; Ensure contribution to timely completion of project performance tools including detailed implementation plans (DIPs) and indicator tracking tables (ITT) as it relates to Parenting activities and deliverables in target areas; Document the implementation process, lessons learnt and success stories in each year of program implementation; Contribute to ensuring accountability to project beneficiaries and local stakeholders; Provide logistical support to the project as assigned; Support IEC material development and co-training of staff and Sinovuyo facilitators using approved Sinovuyo curriculum.

Excellent interpersonal and time management skills, good analytical skills; Initiative in learning and self-development; Respectful, willing to cooperate with and support Project stakeholders including government officials, development partners, DREAMS Project partners, colleagues, beneficiaries, local community, and local leaders.
Qualifications And Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in social sciences or other related field; At least one year of working experience in development working with AGYW and or Parents and Caregivers; Previous experience working with volunteers and vulnerable communities; Experience with participatory methods and partnerships; Excellent training and facilitation skills; Good time management skills with ability to work on multiple tasks; Proactive, resourceful, solutions oriented and results-oriented; Excellent organization, planning and analytical skills; detail oriented; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with demonstrated strength in relationship in community engagement and people volunteer management.
