An exciting opportunity for the position of Assistant Accountant has arisen for a suitably qualified and experienced person at Allied Timbers Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd, a big local and international provider of high-quality and durable timber-based solutions for both industrial and end-user markets. The successful incumbent will report directly to the Financial Accountant.
DUTIES
Preparing and processing month end reports up to Trial Balance and assist with the preparation of budgets, cash-flows and forecast reports.
Preparing and processing all exchange control clearance and acquittals of CD1 s, Bills of Entries and service TT prepayments on a timely basis.
Performing daily sales reconciliations to actual cash received and electronic transfers done into ATZ bank accounts.
Posting and allocating receipts from credit sales into rightful debtor accounts and prepare debtors reconciliations on a monthly basis.
Consolidating revenue reports for the group and individual companies on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Performing debtors’ reconciliations and prepare debtors age analysis for both ATS & ATZ on a monthly basis.
Perform creditors reconciliations and prepare creditors age analysis for both ATS & ATZ on a monthly basis.
Performing reconciliations and analysing all Trial Balance nominal accounts.
Preparing and compiling all ZIMRA returns and submit on or before statutory deadline.
Performing monthly bank reconciliations and ensure that they are complete and accurate.
Maintaining and keeping an up-to-date external audit file.
Performing reconciliations on inter-company transactions and keep a file with all relevant documentation.
Posting all accounting transactions and Journal entries into Sage 1000
Implementing departmental resolutions in consultation with supervisor and perform any other duties as maybe assigned by management.
REQUIREMENTS
Boom in Accounting
ACCA/CIMA
CIS
Five years experience in the external and internal audit environment.
Preferably reputable audit firm
Experience in statutory and management accounts.
A team player able to identify and rectify skills gaps and recommend try interventions.
Excellent presentation skills-PowerPoint
Very analytical skills (excel spreadsheet)
Articles of Clerkship
Knowledge of accounting systems such Sage 1000
