JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Asset and Stock Control Supervisor
Location: Mutare – Burma Valley
Department: Operations
Reports To: General Manager and Procurement Manager
Subordinates: Stores Clerks
Position Overview
The Asset and Stock Control Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s assets and inventory. This role ensures that all assets are effectively managed, tracked, and maintained to optimize operational efficiency and reduce costs. The supervisor will work closely with various teams to establish, maintain, and refine Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Short Interval Control Systems (SICs).
Objectives
- Achieve accurate and efficient asset tracking and management.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support operational needs.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive SOPs and SICs.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in asset and inventory management.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Asset Management
- Develop and implement an asset management strategy.
- Maintain accurate records of all assets, including acquisition, location, usage, and disposal.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure asset accuracy and condition.
- Coordinate with procurement to manage asset acquisition and disposal.
- Manage the asset lifecycle, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal.
- Analyse and identify performance gaps and drive closure of gaps
- Manage the correct service intervals and maintenance of assets in collaboration with the workshop.
Inventory Control
- Supervise inventory control procedures to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Monitor inventory levels and perform regular stock checks and audits.
- Conduct regular stock takes and ensure no stock variances.
- Analyse inventory data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement.
- Sage System Utilization, including real time Goods receipts and Goods issues.
- Implement inventory control policies to reduce stockouts and overstock situations.
Team Collaboration and SOP/SIC Development
- Collaborate with team members to establish, maintain, and refine SOPs and SICs.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on asset and inventory management best practices.
- Foster a collaborative environment to continuously improve processes and procedures.
Data Management and Reporting
- Maintain detailed records of all assets and inventory transactions.
- Monitor the KeyFleet system to track the usage, maintenance, and performance of the company’s assets.
- Prepare regular reports on asset utilization, inventory levels, and compliance with SOPs and SICs.
- Use data to drive decisions and recommend improvements in asset and inventory management.
- Weekly reporting of all Keyfleet reports and tracking, as well as inventory and procurement reports for the farm.
Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with asset and inventory management.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to protect company assets.
Skills and Qualifications
- A strong University Degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience in asset and inventory management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in inventory management software and tools.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and lead a team.
Computer proficiencies
Excellent computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, and experience with Sage Evolution and key fleet software
Experience
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in asset and inventory management
- Experience in an agricultural environment will be an added advantage
