Hornbydale Estate
Hornbydale Estate has an opening for an applied biotechnologist / scientist
We are looking for talented technologists to fulfil two roles within the organisation:
1. to plan and execute fermentation development for Nyanga Wines,
2. to teach science subjects and maths to students at The Troutbeck School.
Nyanga wines requires the development of a robust scale-down model at 5 or 10 litre scale. This model is to be used to optimise the fermentation conditions to deliver on repeatability, yield, and taste. Fermentations will be on a ‘months’ based timeframe, not ‘days’.
Hence the role is split.
The Troutbeck School requires enthusiastic people to teach youngsters up to form 4. No formal teaching experience is required. You must be correctable and trainable though. You should have an interest in learning how to teach, not lecture (be prepared for a surprise).
You should be personable.
You should be prepared to start at the bottom and work your way up by continuously learning and solving problems for the organisation.
Accommodation and food provided.
You should be prepared to live in the Nyanga area. Check your family is comfortable with you moving. You would be amazed how often this is not the case once an offer is made!
