The Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) is an Independent Electoral Management Body established in terms of Section 238 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe. Its major function is to manage and conduct elections to the offices of the President, Parliament, Local Authorities, Referendums, and all related electoral processes in accordance with the laws of Zimbabwe and international best practices.
The Commission wishes to recruit professionals of high integrity with good communication and decision-making skills, and sound knowledge of electoral democracy to fill vacancies that have arisen in the institution. JOB TITLE: Analyst/ Programmer
REPORTS TO: Systems Administrator
STATION: Head Office – Harare
GRADE: 8/7
Summary of Key Responsibilities
Conducting system analysis and developing system specifications;
Developing electronic data processing requirements and converting them into detailed flow charts and
diagrams outlining systems capabilities and processes;
Converting systems specifications into logical and physical designs that ensure efficient and effective systems performance, data security, integrity, and attainment of organisational objectives;
Systems design, development and maintenance;
Updating and managing scripts for reporting purposes;
Data mining and warehousing;
ERP management – Sage products and solutions integration;
Documenting developed systems and user manuals/guides;
Conducting system user training and system utilisation follow-ups;
Carrying out support and troubleshooting.
Qualifications/ Job Specifications
A minimum of an HND or Degree in Information Technology/Computer Science;
Intuitive application development;
Strong analytical and programming background using various programming languages;
At least 2 years experience in a similar field;
Experience in SQL, NoSQL, Visual Studio .Net, Java development, Crystal reports, PHP, Laravel etc.;
High degree of confidentiality and ethical behavior;
Team player who is able to work under pressure;
Relevant certification will be an added advantage.
