JOB DETAILS: Accounting Assistant (3)
Reports to: Accountant
Department : Finance
Job summary
Responsible for processing and recording transactions, prepare reports and budget, communications with clients and vendors, checking and filing accounting records.
Key responsibilities:
1. Preparing and filing of payment vouchers and other documents.
2. Processing journals for initiating disallowances, surcharges, advances and miscellaneous.
3. Maintaining debtors and creditors ledger.
4. Preparing bank transfer letters.
5. Certifying correct all suspense accounts and reimbursement vouchers.
6. Capturing of Cashbook transactions in the system and do bank reconciliations.
7. Invoicing and follow-up on debtors and preparation of daily revenue reports.
8. Preparation of revenue reports
9. Preparation of Payment Vouchers.
10. Preparation of Creditors reconciliations
11. Preparation of supporting schedules for Financial statements
12. PreparingTreasury monthly closure certificates
13. Assisting Accountants in the production of necessary supporting schedules and information for the production of Accounting reports.
Qualifications and Experience
• Degree in Accountancy or equivalent plus part relevant professional qualification.
• At least two (2) years’ experience as Accounting Assistant.
Attributes
• Strong attentionto detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to handle confidential information.
• Computer literacy. Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage.
• Knowledge of Public Service Accounting Procedures an added advantage.
• Honest and reliable.
