Title: ACCOUNT RELATIONSHIP OFFICER-MINING
Location: CORPORATE & INSTITUTIONAL BANKING
Grade: 10
Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals to fill the above-named position that has arisen in the Corporate & Institutional Banking Division, FBC Bank.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Assisting in the analyzing of deposit trends and market data to identify new opportunities and make recommendations to the ARM/Senior Manager.
- Supporting the ARM/Senior manager in negotiating and structuring high-value deposit deals with mining clients.
- Maintaining and growing customer relationships as well as identifying new business opportunities.
- Providing value-adding solutions to customers’ financial needs by conducting regular mining project/customer visits and keeping abreast of developments in mining and other industries and making recommendations to the ARM/Senior Manager.
- Marketing the Corporate Banking products and cross-selling to potential customers in mining.
- Performing periodic financial analysis on customers’ businesses and assessments of business and management and providing recommendations.
- Monitoring account performance and producing routine reports required by the Bank.
- Providing well-researched judgement regarding best investment opportunities for cash rich customers after a careful analysis of money-market trends and make recommendations to the
- ARM/Senior Manager. Scrutinizing and analyzing all applications by customers and making recommendations to the
- ARM/Senior Manager to ensure that clients comply with RBZ regulations.
- Ensuring compliance with RBZ exchange control regulations such as CDi forms and their acquittal processes, promptly addressing and reporting any exchange control violations to management within stipulated periods.
- Advising customers/exporters on the consequences of noncompliance of RBZ regulations and advise non-compliant customers on how they can correct their anomaly.
- Periodically availing to the clients lists and conditions they need to meet on their previous
Exchange Control approvals. - Keeping clients abreast with new RBZ directives that affect them.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- A degree in Mining, Banking & Finance, Economics, Business Studies or related.
- A post-graduate qualification (MBA) or Diploma in mining are an added advantage.
- At least 3 years’ working experience with exposure in dealing with Corporate Clients.
COMPETENCE AND SKILLS
- An in-depth knowledge of the Bank’s policies and procedures.
- Good understanding of the Bank’s full range of products including structured finance.
- Appreciation of technology development, treasury products and marketing principles and practices.
- Strong negotiation and analytical skills. Ability to make sound decisions.
- Effective communication skills
