Job Title: Animal Health Technician
Location: Chivhu Dairy Farm
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Animal Health Technician to join our dynamic dairy farm team in Chivhu. As an Animal Health Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our dairy herd, working closely with our veterinary team and farm management.
Responsibilities:
1. Animal Health Monitoring: Monitor cow health, identifying and reporting any signs of illness or injury, and implementing preventative measures.
2. Veterinary Care: Assist with veterinary procedures, including vaccinations, treatments, and hoof trimming, under the guidance of our veterinary team.
3. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of animal health, treatments, and vaccinations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
4. Collaboration: Work closely with farm management, veterinarians, and other team members to ensure optimal animal health and implement best practices.
Requirements:
1. Qualifications: Diploma or certificate in Animal Health, Veterinary Technology, or related field, with a strong foundation in animal health and welfare.
2. Experience: Proven experience working with dairy cattle, preferably in a farm or veterinary setting, with a deep understanding of dairy cow behavior and health.
3. Animal Handling: Strong animal handling skills, with the ability to work calmly and safely around animals.
4. Communication: Excellent communication and record-keeping skills, with the ability to work effectively with our team.
